Is the custom authentication provider available online? I'm interested in creating an asp.net SQL membership provider that authenticates intranet users w/ AD, public users with SQL forms based authentication, and have single-sign-on for SharePoint, Community Server, and proprietary asp.net applications. I'm more than willing to contribute. Thanks!

Keeping your SharePoint site as secured as possible is very important. Another good piece of advice is to make sure that all permissions through SharePoint site were assigned properly and there are not any security holes. I would take a look at <a href="dl.scriptlogic.com/.../Security-Explorer-for-SharePoint.aspx">security explorer for SharePoint</a> that can simplify all this. Hope it helps.

They weren't actually using SharePoint for the the blog hosting, just communityserver.org.

Funny thing is. I personally had contacted them twice previously asking for a personal blog space there and heard nothing back. Guess I wasn't their kind of blogger. I am real happy they didn't grant me one though now :).

Again. We are accepting bloggers here. You can easly recreate your old blogs still by using the g**gle Cache search results feature or asking someone who subscribed to your feeds.

If you have any ideas on how we can alleviate peoples concerns about us not suffering the same fate.

It's nice that you "found out a little more about what happened with sharepointblogs.com". I have/had (?) a blog there and I've been told *absolutely nothing* about what happened or what, if anything, is happening!
